The Pasture - Oak Grove Plantation's pastures are home to the horse, cattle, and goats. The cows are Dutch Belted Galloways, the oldest recorded domestic breed of cow. They were imported to the United States via Canada from Europe in the early 1900's.  The children call them oreo cookie cows, since they are black on both ends and have a white belt around their middle.  We call them our designer cows! We now have a baby calf that is red with a white belt rather than black with a white belt.
